Unlike the anime, this adaptation follows the video game logic more strictly but with a significantly darker and more tactical tone—Pokémon can be lethally injured, and villains like Team Rocket are genuine, murderous criminal threats. The story is a massive, multi-generational epic divided into distinct arcs, shifting focus to new "Pokédex Holders" in every region from Johto to Paldea. Each protagonist possesses a unique specialty—such as "The Battler," "The Evolver," or "The Hatcher"—as they battle legendary entities and shadowy organizations to save their respective worlds.
