JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood
A carriage rattles through the rain-soaked English countryside, and inside, a dying woman clutches a baby that is not hers. Dario Brando, drunk and scavenging the wreckage of an overturned coach, stumbles onto a nobleman's charity and steals more than he deserves. Years later, his son Dio — a boy whose beauty masks a soul calcified by poverty and contempt — steps off a carriage at the Joestar estate and shakes the hand of Jonathan Joestar, the son of the man who saved Dario's life. Jonathan is a boy built from sunshine and boxing drills, raised on love and the certainty that honour matters. Dio plans to own him.
What begins as a war of bread, fists, and a girl's stolen first kiss calcifies into something far older and hungrier. An ancient Stone Mask, hung on the wall of the Joestar manor as a relic, reveals its true purpose when Dio, cornered and bleeding, presses it to his face. It is not an ornament. It is a key. The mask pierces the brain, unlocks the body's latent power, and transforms its wearer into a vampire — immortal, ravenous, and divorced from the sun. Jonathan, barely surviving the first massacre, finds an unlikely teacher in Will A. Zeppeli, a man whose family has chased the mask's shadow across generations. Zeppeli teaches him to breathe with the sun itself: Hamon, the Ripple, a martial art that channels life energy into a weapon lethal to anything that shuns daylight. The mansion burns. Dio escapes. And Jonathan must cross the Atlantic, gather a crew of fellow Hamon warriors, and storm a castle full of the undead to face the brother who now calls himself humanity's predator.
